Saltwood Castle is an 11th-century fortress located in Saltwood village, roughly 1 mile (2 km) north of Hythe in Kent, England, best known as the reputed planning site for Thomas Becket's 1170 assassination and as the former home of art historian Lord Clark and politician Alan Clark.
